Ross Cisneros, multi-disciplinary artist, Sanbornville

Ross CisnerosRoss Cisneros is a multi-disciplinary artist working in installation, sculpture, video, and performance.   Cisneros employs an interdependent studio practice drawing from a number of disciplines that often converge and explore the relationships between critique and transformation, persuasion and belief. Recent exhibitions include George Marshall Store Gallery in York Maine, The Kitchen in New York City, and SculptureCenter in Queens, N.Y. Cisneros was mentioned in the New York Times Art Review on May 3, 2005 and January 12, 2007, as well as featured in the Czech magazine UMELEC for his participation in the Baltic Triennial, Vilnius Lithuania. He received an Artist Advancement Grant from the Piscataqua Charitable Trust, Production Grants from the Foundation for Contemporary Arts, Bose Corporation, and from MIT. This will be Cisneros’ first State Arts Council Fellowship.

"I choose to engage in an interdependent practice often associated with trans-aesthetic approaches and conceptual work. I hope to operate in a world of endless encounter wherein artistic articulation is constantly being modified, invented, and worked out on the street, in protected spaces, a hayfield, or in someone’s kitchen. Working within these parameters helps to to explore pluralism as a function of studio practice and critique."
